The town of Sandanski is one of the most beautiful towns of Bulgaria; it is located in the south-west of Bulgaria at the foothill of Pirin mountains covered with forests, at the two banks of the Sandanska Bistritsa River flowing down from the mountain. The town is situated next to international E79 road from Sofia to Athens at the distance of 20 km to the north from the border with Greece (Kulata border-crossing point) and 160 km to the south from Sofia. Altitude above sea level - 240 m.
