Shkorpilovsi
The village of Shkorpilovtsi is about 40km to the south from Varna and a couple of kilometers away from the coast. The village is named after two Czech brothers, Shkorpil, who have been acknowledged for their contribution to the development of Bulgarian archeology in the late 19th century.
Shkorpilovtsi has a fine white sand beach, 8km long and up to 100-120m wide, having sand dunes at places. Mineral water springs have been found in the surrounding area, though their tourist potential remains under-exploited.It draws mostly on Bulgarian families looking for a bargain holiday. The nearby village has an open-air cinema and plenty of pubs and small restaurants, which together with the serenity of the surrounding nature, ensures a calm and enjoyable low-budget rest.
