The English settlers who, at the beginning of the 21 century, lined up to buy a house on Bulgarian coast are now leaving Bulgaria because of the crisis.

The English offer for sale their property and cars at a low price wishing only to sell it as quickly as possible on a cash basis, real estate brokers explain.
Actually the majority of the English settlers are pensioners with small income. As it turns out their pension, some extra revenue from rent and personal savings is not enough to live on. That is why they sell their property at a profit; at the prices lower 20-25 % than last year.
It is true that the majority of the English are now leaving. Krasimir Todorov, the mayor of Village of Avren (Varna District) confirmed this. On the territory of this town-hall in Varna District lives the biggest group of settlers from England. It counts more than 400 people. Just recently two Russian got a prize when they managed to buy a house almost for nothing.
Other Englishmen left Bulgaria for their native land to search buyers there. However the opportunity to find people concerned and, what is more important, capable of paying is next to nothing. Except that citizens of the island have to part not only with their property but with their transport as well. The biggest car market where the English sell their cars is in the Klimentovo district which is between Varna and resort “Albena”. As the sellers say, prices on right-hand-drive model decreased by half. Four-by-four “Toyota Rav -4” 1999 was sold for 4 thousand leva (about 2 thousand euros) instead of 8 thousand leva (4 thousand euros). Caravans in Victorian style found new owners for 2000-2500 leva.
